Happy Birthday & To-Do List To-Done
I turn the ripe old age of 25 this morning. I’m officially a quarter of a century old. My parties aren’t allowed to look like this any longer because they’re supposed to be sophisticated now that I’m an adult now. I’m officially an adult in her twenty-somethings. I can now ignore all people who ask my age. I can now embody Jackie Onassis.
I’ve also run out of time on my 24 Things list…here’s what I’ve accomplished:
- join a gym – yes!
- workout 2-4 times a week – it was more like 1-2 times during February, but I got my butt into gear by March and definitely accomplished this in April/May
- lose 10 pounds – a very disappointed no. (how can I workout so much and NOT lose weight?)
- try hot yoga – nope
- visit Harry Potter World in Orlando – sadly, no, but I am going in July!
- meet a fellow blogger – nope
- more DIYs – yes!
- tackle my debt – kinda sorta, I paid down about half of it.
- save 1K – no, but I saved $800
- curb my shopping addictions - I’m working on it! If I spend more time at the gym, I spend less time shopping.
- drink less – yes! on average once or twice a week
- visit somewhere new – yes! I went to Los Angeles!
- have a spa day – yes! I got a facial in February.
- take more photos - yes!
- take control of my classes this semester – yes!
- read at least three books while in school - no, only 2! The Night Circus, The Glass Castle.
- create at least one painting a month – no! but I am working on a big painting project that has been taking up my spare time.
- take Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop classes – yes!
- make tasty (and presentable) macarons – I bought some instead, FAIL!
- see a ballet – no!
- cook at least one meal a week – yes! I had eggs at least once a week and a nice dinner if I could fit the grocery store into my schedule.
- visit museums in Chicago – no! but I did go to Chicago for C2E2.
- post 3-4 per week during the semester - yes! The photo challenge in February helped me through this.
- clean up my Google Reader – yes! I purged all sorts of junk.

lipstick used to scare me
I won free tickets to see Incubus last night at the Milwaukee Riverside Theatre via Twitter. I love free things. Here’s the tweet that notified me.

I am afraid of wearing lipstick, so today I wore some pink!

DIY – Studded Embellished Cut-Off Shorts
Here’s my inspiration photo from Pinterest:
Studs are easy to find online. Studs and Spikes is my favorite website for pricing. I haven’t really found anywhere cheaper for the quantity. I didn’t want to distress my jeans – I was only looking for a little edge.
I had worn out these jeans in the thighs, so I tore at that point and guided the scissors to make them straight across.

world traveler
Nothing like some Sperry’s to think that you’re a sailor ready to make sail and discover a new world. Picked up this pair for $5 at Value Village with no marks on the soles. I used the PixFX app to get the effects on the last three photos.

This outfit is day 7 of the Style Me May Challenge.

my scarf always get compliments
My sister got me this pashmina in the Middle East two years ago for Christmas. I get compliments every time I wear it. Thanks, sis!
Jazzin’ Up My Hands

Trying on these fancy rings at Ann Taylor Loft yesterday. Not my style. I need a manicure.
Into the Wild
I really like the photo set from Boat People‘s post “Into the wild: Why you should go camping“. Because now I really do want to go camping. I am waiting for the summer fun to start and it can’t come soon enough.
This might be fun to try
This might be fun to try even though I am two days behind already. Click the picture to go to the original post.
My Stay in Koreatown and a Little Tourism in Los Angeles
All the signs looked like this (especially on Olympic Avenue) and I didn’t have a clue what was going on in the minimalls.
Visiting the 90210:

I took a ride on the rasta bus (A Day in LA Tours):

Hanging out in Griffith Park:

I met a real life Abercrombie model (and I got to touch him):

I went on a $250 shopping spree for one item:
